Decode from an image or scan live with your camera. Runs locally in your browser — images stay on your device. Tip: Telegram in-app browser may not show the back camera — use Open in Chrome.
Best for mobile: point your camera at the code. Results appear on the right.
Drop an image here, click “Choose image”, or paste a screenshot (Ctrl/Cmd+V).
Raw payload + inspector (links, Wi-Fi, vCard, JSON…).
Common formats: QR, Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13/8, UPC-A/E, ITF.
QR codes can hide look-alike domains, short links, or redirects. Always verify the domain before opening. This page blocks unsafe schemes and only opens allowed ones.
Telegram’s in-app browser is a WebView and often blocks proper camera preview or back-camera selection. Use the “Open in Chrome” button for reliable scanning.
Some in-app browsers expose only one camera. Chrome usually exposes all cameras and supports “environment” (back) camera.
Common reasons: low resolution, blur, glare, too small code, or missing quiet zone. Crop closer or use a sharper image. Try decoding again (it retries multiple passes).
This page decodes locally in your browser. The image is not uploaded by this tool.
It supports common 2D and 1D formats, including QR Code, Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A/UPC-E, ITF, and more (depending on the ZXing build).
Yes. Paste a screenshot (Ctrl/Cmd+V) or upload it as an image, then click “Decode image”.
Try cropping closer to the code, avoid reflections, and ensure the whole code (including the quiet zone) is visible. If it’s a 1D barcode, try rotating the image and decoding again.
Yes. For camera scanning, use Chrome on Android and Safari/Chrome on iPhone. In-app browsers (like Telegram) can be unreliable.
Browsers often hide camera device names until the user grants camera permission.
Yes. When camera scan is running, it keeps scanning and will update the result when it detects a new code.
The scanner runs continuously. This tool deduplicates rapid repeats, but if you move away and back, it may scan again.
Yes. If the payload is a Wi-Fi QR (WIFI:...), the inspector will show SSID, security type, and password.
Yes. If the payload contains a vCard, the inspector will extract name, phone, email, and other fields.
Yes. “Open link” only opens http/https links in a new tab with safe flags. For tel/mailto it uses your device handler.
Image decoding can work offline after the page is loaded (and the ZXing script is cached). Camera scanning generally requires a normal browser context and permissions.
